York Paper Trail during May

If you've wandered down Leeman Road recently you've probably noticed that the railway tunnel is looking a bit brighter, thanks to a series of images wallpapered to the brickwork. This is all part of York Paper Trail which is running now and throughout May - and for however long after that the pictures survive the elements.

The project is the brainchild of local designer Deborah Bowness, and her sister and business manager Leigh.  It builds on the success of a similar installation in Brighton last year when brick walls and boarded-up shops were decorated with Deborah's distinctive designs.

The images included in the current displays include wallpaper collages by York College students alongside Deborah's own designs plus furniture, secret doorways and windows looking out onto iconic York scenes.

The York Paper Trail began at the Leeman Road tunnel on April 29th and also takes in the Bonding Warehouse, some of the city's snickleways and shops around Castlegate.
