The June meeting of York Art Society is this coming Saturday at 2:00pm in the usual venue, Christchurch Hall, Stockton Lane York. Entry is free for members and £5 for guests.
The subject of the demonstration this month is Landscapes in Oil, presented by Chris Tkacz. His style confidently blends American abstract art with both the English romantic landscape tradition and his family's own East European heritage. In recent years Chris' work has taken inspiration from the Derbyshire Dales.
After graduating from Birmingham School of Art & Design with both a BA and MA in Fine Art, Chris taught at Beauchamp College in Leicester and St Mary's Grammar School in Ashbourne. Now settled in Matlock, Chris works fulltime as an Artist and runs the Little London Gallery with his wife Krystyna.
Samples of his work can be seen here - www.littlelondongallery.co.uk.
