Assuming you need time to chill out after pedalling furiously around the streets, dressed only as God intended - see our previous story - why not stroll along to this year's Open Air exhibition which takes place in Parliament Street (outside M&S) over the weekend of June 22nd and June 23rd ?
As in previous years, this popular event features work by members of YAS and independent York artists and potters. There will be 32 artists attending on the Saturday and 24 on the Sunday. Sited on one of York's busiest streets with truly impressive footfall, this is a great opportunity for artists to promote their work and get immediate feedback from the passing public.
There'll be a selection of original art and an assortment of cards and prints to purchase. A share of the proceeds go to support local charity. This event really needs your support as the success of this one will influence whether it continues in following years. Let's make this a success.
Please note the council offices are closed on these two days. Name tags and trading licences will be available from the wrapping desk. Losing the office means that storage space is limited so exhibiting artists are requested to store wrapping, bags and spare paintings in their cars. Lin Taylor may be able to arrange limited storage space for neatly packed items under the charity tables for any artists using public transport. Please check with Lin first, either by direct contact or by sending a mail to email@example.com with "Open Air" in the subject line.
