Art, Wine, Nibbles, Awards ....... What's Not to Like ?

A few more pictures from last night's preview at the De Grey Rooms.

A rousing speech by Liam Evans-Ford; producer on Blood & Chocolate and community producer of the award winning 'York Mystery Plays 2012'.

Music and ambience provided by Jean Hotton, a pianist of versatility and part of Pavilion Music who provide beautiful music for a wide variety of ceremonies and events.

The De Grey Rooms provide a stunning backdrop to a wide range of stunning artworks.

It was also time to unveil the choices made earlier in the afternoon by our Selector, Jane Duke of Stoneflower Studios

Selector's Choice : Cath Inglis' portrait of David Hockney   - the snapshot below doesn't do it justice and you really need to come along and view it for the full experience.

Commended by the Selector : Janet Bean ("Tree by Crummock Water"), Roger Baker ("Respite"), Margaret Dale ("Seaholly"), David Hodge ("The Shambles") and Angela McCall ("Autumn in Yorkshire").

Noted by the Selector : Julie Lightburn ("Estuary Dunes"), Rhona Rowley ("Primroses") and Susan Holiday ("Falls")

Once again, many thanks to Jane for admirably filling the role of Selector for us.

Keep following the blog and FaceBook this week for more news of the Exhibition as it happens.
