Preview Evening at the De Grey Rooms

The official Preview Evening of the York Art Society's 198th Autumn Exhibition took place at the De Grey Rooms between 7:00pm and 9:00pm this evening.  We were pleased to receive a host of visitors from within the Society and the wider York community.

The event was opened by Liam Evans-Ford; producer on Blood & Chocolate (currently running at York Theatre Royal), community producer of the award winning 'York Mystery Plays2012' and a founder and producer of 'Sprite' productions based at Ripey.

The evening saw several sales of artwork and a brisk trade in cards and prints.

Congratulations to Julie Lightburn who's art was a clear winner in the people's vote on the night.

Thanks also to Chris Dewire for donating his work 'The Old Manse' to the public raffle.  The raffle  continues all week and tickets are only £1 a go. So please think about entering if you are attending in the coming days.

The 198th Autumn Exhibition continues from 9:00am to 5:00pm throughout this week.  And don't forget our special Meet the Artist day this Saturday 19th October.

Keep checking the blog and FaceBook for updates on the Exhibition.
