March Exhibition at Mermaid & Miller

As teased last week, three members of York Art Society have got an exhibition running at Mermaid & Miller throughout March.

The three exhibitors are all local artists
  • June Whittaker - current YAS Secretary and known for animal portraits and local scenes
  • Roger Baker - commended at the 198th Exhibition for his imaginative landscapes
  • Lin Taylor - ubiquitous and versatile artist, currently making a name with her bird paintings on feathers.

Come along and view their work all through March.  The Mermaid & Miller shop at 24 Swinegate, York is open 10am to 4pm between Mondays and Saturday.

Thanks to Mermaid & Miller for hosting the show.  This is the latest in a series of great events they've organised since they formed in 2012.  As well as providing much needed wall space for local artists, they are an arts and crafts co-operative for adults with learning difficulties or disabilities who have decided  to commit to a work-focused group and make products together. Each item crafted is original and unique and the profits are shared between co-op members. Brunswick nurseries also supply the shop with various items including a range of bird boxes.

If you haven't already bookmarked it, their FaceBook page is a great resource for keeping up to date with their activities and viewing their latest work.
