As I type this, we're in the middle of our summer exhibition at the DeGrey Rooms in York. The event kicked off with a preview evening on Monday night and opened to the public at 10:00am on Tuesday morning.
Here's a selection of photographs taken by Julie Lightburn on Monday evening.
The night began with Society President, Richard Bell, making the opening speech and thanking Ron Walker for his efforts in making the 203rd show happen. Most members probably recall that Ron organised many of our past exhibitions over a period several years and, although he's since changed roles in the Society, he stepped up at extremely short notice to organise the current event.

The exhibition runs all week until Sunday and entry is free to the public. Doors are open from 10:00am to 5:00pm each day, except Sunday when we will be closing at 3:00pm to allow time for dismantling.
If you're planning on going along, don't forget to enter the raffle to win one of three selections of greeting cards from the exhibiting artists. Raffle tickets are a bargain at just £1 each - or mention that you read about it on the blog and get a ticket for just 100 shiny English pennies.
