October Demonstration

The October meeting of York Art Society takes place this coming Saturday 8th October at the usual venue of Christ Church Hall, Stockton Lane, York.

This month the demonstration is a landscape in oil by Richard Holland.

Richard has had a life long interest in art . He has been a keen Water Colour painter since his early twenties and in recent years has become an accomplished Oils artist. His subject matter ranges from abstract to landscapes and still life to portraits.  He currently teaches in North Nottinghamshire and Eastern Derbyshire.

Richard's own site can be found at www.richardhollandlandscapeartist.co.uk where you can see samples of his work and learn about the courses and workshops that he offers.

He also offers a number of short instructional videos on YouTube.

Entry to this Saturday's YAS demonstration is free for members and £5 for guests. The programme runs for approximately two to two and a half hours with a midway break for refreshments.

The day officially begins at 2:00pm but we're always pleased if some members turn up earlier to help with setting up the chairs and equipment.  The Society runs entirely on the time and efforts of volunteers, so all help is appreciated.
