Nunnington Hall Exhibition Opportunity

I’m contacting you on behalf of National Trust property Nunnington Hall in North Yorkshire regarding our upcoming exhibition Art for Christmas. This special exhibition is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate wonderful arts and crafts from the Yorkshire region and beyond.
The Art for Christmas exhibition is a creative platform for artists to showcase a mixed media of work covering a variety of subjects including local life, landscape, nature and wildlife.  In the past the pieces have included paintings, photography, wood carving and embroidery.
All submissions must be received by Sunday 21 October and the successful applicants will be notified within three days. Artwork will need to be delivered to the property by Sunday 4 November. All profits will contribute towards the care of Nunnington Hall and its collection.

Robert Brindley Workshop - Sat 17 November

York Art Society - Self Help Group

The following Workshop has been arranged at St Andrews Church Hall, Church Lane Bishopthorpe YO23 2QG

Saturday 17th November 2018 9.45 to 3.30pm (Please do not arrive at the hall before 9.30am)

Many of you will know Robert and may have attended one of his excellent workshops before. The format will be slightly different from the previous workshop formats. Robert will demonstrate a watercolour, snow scene after which you can begin your own painting from your reference material in whatever medium you prefer. Robert will be on hand during the workshop to give help, advice and encouragement.

You will need to bring along your preferred medium and reference material, together with appropriate equipment.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided but please bring a packed lunch.
Cost: £25.

Forms will be available at the demo on Sat 6 October, or please speak to a committee member.

Appeal for more stewards for October Exhibition

Stewarding: Please remember that we ask for a commitment to help with the stewarding at the exhibition if you wish to enter work. 

Most ‘duties’ consist of being a friendly face or contact for the visitors to the exhibition area. There will be plenty seats, and drinks are available for stewards.

Daily slots:
10am to 1pm: Thurs 11th , Fri 12th and Sat 13th Oct.
1pm to 3pm: Wed 10th, Thurs, 11th, Fri 12th and Sat 13 Oct.
3pm to 5pm: Wed 10th Thurs 11th, Fri 12th Oct.

Helping to set up and close down the exhibition (variety of tasks): Wed 10th Oct:  8am to 12pm. Sat. 13th Oct:  3pm. to 5.30pm.

Every day from 9.30am to 5pm. Daily welcome desk and door security: (sitting by entrance at desk). Please indicate the time you can manage.
